The European Community is threatening some European countries, including Spain, for not recognising diplomas in areas like architecture, if the diploma was taken in another European country. The commision which handles these areas demands that Spain recognises such diplomas and value them on the same level as Spanish diplomas/titles. This recognition is important and should be equal throughout Europe as it is one of the conditions for free worker flows within Europe. |

Throughout Europe new laws have been introduced to help increase save driving. To reduce the high fatality records in Spain, authorities have passed the legislation of the Driving Points System. Under the new law there are three main category drivers:
1- Normal (12 points) 2- Beginner (8 points) - Under 3 years experience 3- "Caught" (8 points) - Those who previously lost the license |

The market which is held every thursday in Javea will be relocated as of may 2006. The new location will be the Vía Augusta, because the old location will be transformed into a parking garage, aiming to partly solve Javea´s parking problem. |

The Spanish Government will introduce new laws against the abuses made by real-estate agents against their unsuspected clients. These new laws are aimed to make the estate agency sector more transparent and by doing so, providing greater guarantees to buyers and sellers. At the moment basically anyone with a mobile phone can set up a real-estate agency, without having the professional qualification. Spain hopes these new laws offer more protection to buyers and protect their interest. |

Jávea welcomes America´s Cup |

Jávea has been selected to host the first leg of the America´s Cup promotion tour. The tour includes a 24-foot America´s Cup boat and a big pool containing all 12 model replicas of those taking part in this years Cup. These replicas can be used for practise using remote controls by you. There will also be some films about the America´s Cup. Dates: 12th of April till the 17th of April |

Spanish authorities are beginning to step up against those who let out their home, but avade to pay the income tax on rental income. Hacienda has started to track down these owners by searching through rental agents´ listings and going through small advertisements in the local newspapers. |

The Arenal Promenade is to be repaired, as thousands of tourists are expected again this coming summer. In addition to this, the play zones for children will also be renewed.
The beach area is very popular with families, both local and holiday makers, as the beach has a gentle slope to the sea, and all the facilities needed. Another 40,000 euros will be invested to create a new recreation zone for children, which is planned to include a skateboarding facility.
