Art
Every year the Town Council sponsor local artists to create sculptures to decorate the boulevards along the port. These sculptures are mostly out of metal and reflect the imagination of the artists living in and around Javea.
The local coastlines are popular with artists as they provide stunning views, and many accomplished ‘sand artists’ work along the beach in summer. The local schools also take part in art competitions for children, with the winners being announced in the local papers.
The Isabel Bilbao Gallery was established in 1989 and exhibits a range of contemporary International Artists, including the well known Artist Oscar Bento. Current Artists exhibiting are Carlos Manta, Jon Barredo, and Maria Jose Bagazgoitia, but to name a few. For further information you can visit the gallery Monday to Saturday 11-13.30 and 18.00-21.00.

A well established art gallery in the old town is Atelier 1. This two floor gallery holds
regular exhibitions, and the local shops and cafes display posters of the current Artists.
If you prefer a social environment, then the Café D´Art in the Port is worth a visit. The walls display large abstract painitings, and downstairs is a gallery.

The Buckwell Visual Arts gallery displays affordable work of local and international artists and sculptors. They have a Photographic studio, and workshops are held in the photographic school, in digital and analogue photography.

The Art Centre Association encourages complete beginners to the more experienced, by offering tuition, lectures, demonstrations and workshops. The Art centre is near Javea Golf course, and has two well equipped studios and a coffee lounge. There is parking and wheel chair access, and many subjects offered, such as painting, mixed media, silver sculpture, and creative embroidery.
